I went to the new house yesterday! It was SO exciting! Everything is coming together so nicely. It's so surreal. We are actually building our first home, literally, H has put his blood & sweat into this house.. I doubt there are been any tears from him =/
I went over to order our appliances from the local Lowes! Very exciting! We are going to have black appliances! The fridge, microwave & range are all GE; the dishwasher is Whirlpool. We couldn't find a GE dishwasher. I'm not partial to one brand or another it just worked out that we preferred the GE products over some of the other manufacturers. Maybe because they make a lower cost product? We had a budget of 3k for all the appliances. My total as $2188, not to shabby. My Dad said "Good, you went over on the floor by $1500"... uh oops?!
I also bought a shower curtain and a few towels for Chris to use. He will be moving over there as of this week. My dad wants him to after work so that he can work on the house more. We are SO close to closing it's crazy!
I decided that I am going to do the guest bath in Palm Trees, my office manager bought us a cute bathroom trash can that has palm trees on it so that will be where I will start with colors. I found a cute palm tree shower curtain @ Bed Bath & Beyond.
I think for our master bath I will do seashells & starfish. Haven't found anything for our bathroom yet. Chris keeps telling me I'm getting ahead of myself. He didn't even want me to buy a shower curtain yesterday, but they are going to be showering there... they need a shower curtain!
I start my new job this week, on Thursday! I am so nervous & excited all at the same time. I've been trying to read about various policies, but its hard to know what's actually accurate. I'm trusting that the Dr will have all the materials I will need to be successful.
This week they will be pouring the drive way, and building the outside stair case. I really don't know what else they will be doing. This weekend they grouted all the tile. They set the toilets and made our bathroom countertops. We are going to have tile tops in the bathrooms, not really my first choice, but it's better then ugly laminate tops. Our kitchen counter tops wouldn't really match in the bathrooms.
I'll post pictures when Chris gets home.

2.5 wks!
June 8th. My dad wants to move our closing date to June 8th! Is this even possible? I have no idea. Right now the bank has it scheduled for June 15th. I don't know what all is involved in closing.. It would be fabulous if we could close on the 8th! That would be less time that I have to drive back & forth from Clermont.
I won't talk to much, I'll just show you pictures! EXCITING!

That is all for now. I have a bunch more pictures of our cabinets.. but they all look the same; and I think i'm the only one that gets super excited about our cabinets!

Walls & Tile = exciting!
Oh it's the little things that make me happy! Having the tile up in our guest bath makes me super excited! It's so pretttttttyyyyyy! Here, let me show you!
Oh! pardon my dad! =)
There is our guest bath! White subway tile with that pretty green & blue glass tile! Ohhh its lovely! My plans are to paint the walls a light blue or green. The cabinets are white bead board; same as our kitchen cabinets. We don't have counter tops yet. We are thinking about going with tile counter tops in both bathrooms. Yay or Nay? Experience with this? Chris said they will be harder to clean. Probably. But I REALLY hate formica laminate; and that is pretty much our only other option. bleh. ---- The tile in our bathroom is not done yet. It should be done this weekend, I should have pictures Monday night!
Our bedroom. L-O-V-E the windows in the front two bedrooms. The view is uh, well it's nothing to look at. But I just love the big windows. We have little bitty windows in our current home.
Kitchen.. and pantry....and bar/island. Can't wait to see it with our cabinets in there! The cabinets are being delivered on Monday! yay!
From the living room to our bedrooms & the guest bedrooms.
Not much to say about this.. part of the garage. .. .. Chris has big plans for the garage-

My side of the garage! Yay! I'm excited to get to park in the garage and walk up to the house through the garage; this makes taking groceries inside much easier!
Front of the house! Can't wait t to have real garage doors! Sunday, May 9, 2010
It's been a while, huh?
I haven't updated our house blog in awhile. pathetic. Honestly, Chris forgot to take the camera last weekend and I didn't figure you would really want to *read* .. I think pictures are easier & more fun.
I can't remember what all was done last weekend. .. Let's see. Oh, Chris & I found some wood flooring that was on clearance at our local Lowe's. We fell in love with it & decided we wanted it. Fast forward to Friday; Chris heads over to the house Friday morning.. I worked all day that day, when I talked to him after work he said he was headed back home... huh? Apparently the Lowe's in Spring Hill doesn't have the flooring we want. So Chris had to come back home so he could get all the flooring that the Plant City store had... not cool, I was less then thrilled that he would be making 2 trips to & from the new house =/ .... he also had to go to the Oldsmar store to get the rest of the flooring. The good news, we got the flooring we wanted; on clearance. The bad news... we went over budget on the flooring.... but quite a bit; and this did not please the contractor. AKA Daddy-O ....
They also went and bought all the lighting & tile last weekend. I think last weekend they did a lot of shopping and not to much installation of anything.
Oh, they did finish the siding and put up all the soffit. So all that's left on the exterior of the house is the light fixtures by the garage doors; the garage doors themselves; the lights on the back of the house; the outside stairs, and the lighting by the front door.
_____________
This weekend Chris left again Friday morning for the new house. They primed the whole inside, downstairs & upstairs. Then they painted the whole thing... white. Not my idea. I would have preferred to put some color in there before we move in; but I got trumped. Oh well =)
Today they put up the tile in the shower stall of the guest bathroom. I really CAN NOT wait to see how it looks. I'm going crazy not being able to get over to the house. I'm really hoping I can make a quick trip over there next Sunday. I work on Saturday, but I'm soooo anxious to see the house. Chris said "It's crazy Babe, it looks like a house, a real house, with out furniture or appliances; but its a house, and it's our house".
Oh gosh. Our House!
I'll be back later to post pictures after Chris gets home!

an uneventful weekend.
That is our entertainment center. I know I mentioned it in an earlier blog... Some of that stuff is not on there anymore, I packed it away.. the star fish are gone, the fishing reels are gone, the pictures are gone. Oh & we don't have the turtle anymore- wow this picture is old. It's been a while since we had Chance, our turtle.
Well Chris went over to the house this weekend. My dad was out of town so there wasn't a lot that he could do. He pressure washed the down stairs and then they finished knocking down the 3rd column that was in the garage.
Friday the plumber came in and roughed in all the plumbing. Chris said they wrapped the house in "Tyvex" .. I have NO IDEA what that is! & He didn't take a picture so I can't show you what it is either. Chris said that all the windows are cut out.
We have a tub in the guest bathroom that is filled with water. Apparently you have to have the tub filled w/ water for the inspection? I guess to show that it holds water & doesn't leak? Not sure on that one. We also have our pantry built in! YES! This makes me mega happy!
I've been thinking recently about all the things that I can't not wait to have that we don't currently have where we live now.
1. Dishwasher
2. Normal pantry (right now we have 2 "pantries".. they are tiny closets in the kitchen and there is just stuff everywhere, and i also have stuff sitting on a wire rack because everything doesn't fit in my other 2 pantries, it's a mess)
3.hot water that lasts longer then 20 minutes. Right now our hot water is limited. I can hardly wash my hair, body and shave my legs with out the hot water running out. Yes, i take ridiculously long showers & I love it!
4. a real shower , right now we have a shower tub and it sucks. At our new house we just have a big shower in our bathroom and get this IT HAS TWO SHOWER HEADS!!!!! HOLLA. That alone is quite exciting!
5. laundry room currently our washer & dryer reside in a "closet" in our kitchen. yah, great huh? The washer shakes the entire house during spin cycle. Can't wait for that mess to quit!
I'm sure there are more things I could add to the list, but i'll stop there. I am so grateful for our new house! I can't wait!
Here are a few pics that Chris took this weekend. He didn't take very many. I will be there next weekend so i'll be sure to take some more.
This week is Electrical, Windows & Siding!!!
Hmm .don't quite know what this is a picture of... yah, I have no clue.
That would be the guest bath full of water.
This is our bathroom. .. i didn't know we had a window in there.. interesting.
and hey! that's our front door!
There's our kitchen.. and our pantry! Hallelujah!

It's all happening so fast!
WOW! Our new house is coming together so quickly. I thought it would take longer, or maybe it just seemed like forever because I'm so anxious to get over there. Now the closer it gets, the more nervous I get. I seriously have to get on the job hunting band wagon. This is not something I can put off and procrastinate about. I've applied for 3 jobs, two of which were PRN- which is obviously not ideal. I don't even know why I bothered, maybe so I could feel like I was being "productive"?
So I guess you probably came here to see some pictures, not to hear me ramble on about why I did or didn't apply for certain jobs. So here, here are the pictures you came to see.
YAY! We have shingles, I forget what they are called, but they are a light brown color.
For the life of me I can not figure out how to make it where I can type above and below the pictures. Ugh. So I will just tell you right here what each picture is of.
1. The living room. They cut out partial windows so they would have some light while they are working in there. You can see right above the cutout is the wood that actually frames the top of the windows.
2. Our bedroom, bathroom & closet. I'm so very excited about our bathroom! Big walk-in closet, big shower woohoo!! This makes me so happy! I hate our bathroom and closets where we currently live, they are awful!
3. Just the outside of our house.
4. The first little room you see is our laundry room, and to the left of it is a closet that added in. Everyone loves some extra closet space! Directly behind the laundry room is spare room1, and right behind that is spare room 2. One of those will be housing my treadmill, WHEN I get it & I will be getting one!
5. The last pictures is of our kitchen. You can see where there will be a window. It looks out into the backyard, which is nothing, but it's better then looking at the neighbors house. The sink will be directly underneath the window.
This week the windows are being delivered (installed, i think?) - The air conditioning stuff is being put in, and the plumbing is being roughed in this weekend. Chris will be going over there this weekend to help with the plumbing rough in. Sometime soon the electrical will get roughed in and then the siding goes up. WOOHOO!!! Very exciting!
I am making a trip over there this weekend if everything goes as planned! I am so excited to actually get to see it for myself! I haven't been there in about 3wks. That is the bad part about living 2 hrs away & working weekends- I don't get to see much of it go up! =(

update: 4/6
I just have a few more pictures of the house. Chris was there Easter weekend from Fri-Sun. He & My dad put plywood on the roof & then put tar paper up. Sunday afternoon they also built our inside stairwell! - - - I talked to my dad today, he was over at our house planning out the interior walls, he said he was "snapping lines on the floor"... y'know those blue lines they use for construction? I guess that's what he's doing. We also went to lowes and picked out our shingles, and our exterior paint. So this weekend we should have shingles up & maybe a few interior walls. According to Dad we might be done by the end of June, he said "he's working on it"

looking down the stairs from the 2nd story. yay! very exciting!
We are also going to have exterior stairs!

While we were at Lowes I took some pictures of some of the things I have picked out for the house. Not that exciting for you, but its really exciting for me!
I NEED this chandelier! It's so awesome! I absolutely am in love with it! There are matching table lamps, floor lamps, and there are also some drop down lights that we are going to put over the bar, OMG i'm in looove!!!
There is the drop down light. We will have three of them over our island in the kitchen!
Ooo yah! There is our shingles and our exterior paint colors. We are going to paint the siding (upstairs) the darker green color; then we will paint the downstairs part of the house the lighter color- it has a shade of green, but you can't really tell from the pictures. The fascia & the trim will be a bright white. Our house is going to be really different from our neighbors. Both our neighbors on the left are poopy brown. The neighbor on the right..uh I don't know. I don't know if he has colors on it right now, he is still building. But I think Chris said it was going to be yellow & green.
I really like this cabinet for the guest bathroom. I am obsessed w/ beadboard, it just looks so "beachy" to me. There is also a mirror that goes over it. It will look So cute!
Those are kitchen cabinets, again w/ the beadboard. I couldn't really get a good picture of them. But they are going to be so pretty! I'm really excited about our kitchen! Yay! Can't wait to have lots of cabinets, and a new stove, a big fridge, oh boy!
